App Design
How might we improve the organization and the intake process for people who start taking medication regularly and continue to accompany them afterwards?
Idea
With our "My Medi" app, we want to solve several problems that people have who have to take medication regularly. We focus on patients who are just starting to take medication regularly. We want to support and accompany them during this phase. We also want to solve the issue of cross-effects between different medicines or side effects and provide information about them. In addition, we want to create a solution for the organisation and clarity of the medication at home. It is often not clear to patients which medicines are still at home and whether they can still be used. We solve all these problems with our app.
Structure
The main function is the profile view, which shows which profile is currently selected and which medication is due next (img 1). In addition, you can then view the entire week (img 2) and a more detailed day view (img 3). The next main function is the "virtual medicine cabinet", which shows all your medicines at home and their important characteristics. The log function (img 4), ensures a complete documentation of the medicines taken and the patient's well-being. We also outlined an application for a smart watch (img 5).
Process
User Journey
Through the user journey, we were able to get a feeling for how the processes of different users work, e.g. we became aware of the areas in which optimisation would make sense and in which areas it is already easily solved.
Interviews
We interviewed people from young to old, from normal consumers to people who have to take a lot of medication. It was very important for us to cover a wide range - so we also interviewed a doctor's assistant and a pharmacist.
Personas
From the evaluation of the interviews and a target group analysis, we started to create personas from this information. We looked at for whom the app offers the most added value and created potential users from this.
Sketching
After the extensive analytical conceptualisation, we started with the first analogue sketches. To do this, we divided the entire structure of the app into sections. Above you can see the first sketches for notifications on the lock screen.
